I have used the other Acid, and this is not it. The other had time stretching to make bpm clips into bpm clips, this one does NOT do that. But it works as advertised. I’ll probably go for the PRO version at a later date. Doesn’t keep my interest, not my type of music mixer maybe?
I’ve heard Acid is a favorite brand, and their free downlload cChristmas trial wasn’t something I could pass up, so for that I’m grateful One person found this helpful. I tried, but it didn’t meet my needs. I have 3 albums of songs recorded on a zoom mrs-8 with parallel sequences done with cakewalk express. It read the midi files all right, but when I tried to add the audio tracks from the zoom, it automatically adjusted the tempo of the audio tracks, which, since it was already at the right tempo, caused it to be off.
After a week of trying every option I could find, I gave up and bought cakewalk sonar x3, which handled the job without a problem. It is easy to use and the mixer has a lot of headroom on each track and produces a good sound. Very confusing to use.
After an hour of trying, I gave up and surrendered my penny. I’m still considering getting the pro version though, or maybe the full acid 10 home version. It’s just that the trial version didn’t give me access to what I wanted or I didn’t know how to access it. Tutorials are limited. Online tutorials are non-existent on making beats from the music 10 version. I was so hoping that this would work for me, as I’ve used ACID products in the past, and this version offers some wonderful features and updates.
But on my computer, it kept crashing. I gave up after an hour. The good news is that I was operating under the free trial, so I didn’t have to seek a refund. I had full acid pro 6 I think, and lost the installation discs in a flood, so I got the trial for this to mess around again. I liked it, it was easy to pick up the changes in the interface and when I get around to being serious about composing some music again, I’m definitely buying the license.
